Hanoian rolls out hoverboard pho delivery

A pho restaurant on Tran Te Xuong Street, Hanoi’s Ba Dinh District has drawn public attention since its owner, Nguyen Thanh The, 43, employed a hoverboard to deliver bowls of pho to neighborhood customers.

"I have used hoverboards for a long time. The Ngu Xa neighborhood is large and has a lot of offices and coffee shops, so I use this hoverboard for delivery, which costs less effort and time," The said.

"It is not difficult to move skillfully, as long as you are okay with falling and injuries when you learn. It normally takes a person a week of practice to master it," he said.

The has never fallen or dropped a single bowl of pho.

Hang, a neighborhood butcher, is always excited when seeing The deliver pho on his hoverboard.
"Those bowls of pho are delivered faster, as hot as if they were served at The’s restaurant," she commented.

Huyen and her husband, loyal customers, are also excited when their pho are delivered via hoverboard.
"At first I was scared, it felt like the hot bowl of pho was rushing toward me, but now I've grown used to it."

"The hoverboard cannot move at high speeds, so I only deliver pho within 1-2 kilometers. The food can grow cold if customers are too far. I can deliver 3-4 bowls per trip," The said.

The does not only use his hoverboard to deliver pho, but also goes shopping on it.
"It makes me feel confident, and manly," he joked.
