Metiseko's Dragon Que Capsule Collection, a new addition to its Year of the Dragon collection, combines traditional materials with Vietnamese culture.

As spring heralds, the arrival of Tet, the dragon and lion dances, which originated from the ritual of inviting the king to visit villages, have become an integral part of Vietnamese cultural festivities.

In the ancient capital of Thang Long, dragon dances were a ubiquitous spectacle. Today, many locales rekindle this tradition during summer festivals and Tet.

As the dragons meander and glide, they bring wishes for prosperity and good fortune, with bountiful harvests and favorable weather.

Drawing inspiration from this majestic culture and Dong Ho folk woodcut paintings, Metiseko weaves a harmonious blend of heritage and modernity in its newest collection, "Dragon Que."

This 2024 Tet collection is a journey back to its roots, connecting traditional palettes and prints with contemporary, sophisticated forms and styles. It embodies the Vietnamese spirit, which values timeless principles and traditions while continuously striving towards the future.

Since time immemorial, Dong Ho paintings have adorned every Vietnamese household during Tet.

These vivid pieces depict themes such as "Vinh Hoa Phu Quy" (eminence, honorable prosperity), "Le Tri-Nhan Nghia" (decorum and wisdom, righteousness), Lion Dance, and Dragon Dance.

All are passed down by artisans skilled in the art of woodblock printing.

Metiseko breathes new life into Dong Ho's day-to-day familiarity with the novel sophistication of Dragon Que’s silk material.

Each motif in this Tet collection recites a spiritual tale, reflecting Dong Ho timeless craftsmanship with a touch of innovation, seamlessly interweaving the past and present.

Unfolding like a storybook, the collection reveals 15 styles, three new prints, and a solid color that stands as a testament to simplicity.

Take the cobalt Royal Murmur print. It depicts elusive whispers of dragons, their dance intertwining with the lively pattern of waves, clouds, and umbrellas.

This twill masterpiece captures the essence of a celestial hide-and-seek game among majestic creatures and elements.

Then there is Coral Murmur, a sibling in pattern and story, but with a textural twist of soft sheen satin over twill.

Its color palette is a fiery dance of sunrise orange and deep raspberry red. This visual symphony creates outfits that not just dress but also make the wearer a beacon of style, standing out in any gathering.

The Azure Waltz product line resembles dragons gliding on water surfaces, brought to life with the delicate touch of Habutai silk.

It offers a calm, sophisticated style of royal blue against a night sky, dotted with gold motifs that shimmer like distant stars, enhancing a sense of authority.

For those who find beauty in simplicity, Metiseko also offers a solid color line called Rose Flush, a blush of raspberry red that whispers elegance.

Dragon Que is a fusion of heritage and modern values. As Metiseko’s inaugural collection of 2024, it is in limited production.

The collection will be exclusively available at Metiseko’s store system, marking a departure from the usual practice of parallel online and offline distribution.

Beyond its value as a fashion statement, Dragon Que is a thread that weaves us back to our roots, where the divine dance of dragons blends with the contemporary rhythm of the Vietnamese homeland. It serves as a reminder of enduring values when facing constant change.

Metiseko and Dragon Que aspire to bring a strong, bustling, and inspirational new year to each customer, a year filled with the echoes of the ancient dragon dance and the vibrant present.
