The number of followers of Son Tung M-TP Official galloped overnight from 7.6 million to 8.1 million on the evening of December 20.
The singer-songwriter is followed by pop star My Tam with nearly seven million subscribers, K-ICM and Jack with 4.6 million and rapper Den Vau with 3.1 million.
The sudden jump occurred on the day Son Tung’s latest music video "Chung Ta Cua Hien Tai" (We of the Present) premiered.
It got just 26 views on release because YouTube was not able to contain the number of concurrent viewers.

Statistics later showed that the 15-minute retro-themed pop R&B video garnered over 800,000 views.
Tung had a chance to collaborate with world- renowned rapper Snoop Dogg. The American’s SnoopDoggTV channel has seven million subscribers.
