Vietnam’s richest billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong attends son’s engagement ceremony to Miss World Vietnam runner-up

Vuong and Huong arrived at Nhi’s house in her hometown, Thanh Hoa City, in northern Vietnam, on Wednesday morning. The billionaire wore a black suit, while his wife donned an elegant embroidered ao dai (Vietnamese tunic). Both radiated happiness as they prepared to welcome Nhi into their family.

Vuong and Huong accompanied Hoang to Nhi’s home at around 8 a.m. and quickly entered to avoid drawing too much attention. They were joined by the groomsmen, who carried trays of traditional wedding gifts shaped like dragons and phoenixes, symbolizing happiness and fulfillment.

For the occasion, Nhi wore a cream-white ao dai with intricate embellishments on the chest as its highlight. The ceremony lasted about an hour, after which the groom’s family departed under the protection of security personnel. Nhi later left for her husband’s home in Hanoi. Details about the couple’s wedding ceremony remain undisclosed.

As of Wednesday, Vuong’s net worth was $4.1 billion, according to Forbes, ranking him the richest man in Vietnam.

His son Hoang, 25, currently serves as the head of an automobile company.

Nhi, 23, represented Vietnam at the 2023 Miss International contest, where she reached the top 15. She once shared that her parents ran a small business selling household goods.

Before her engagement, Nhi had been absent from the public eye for about a year. Her last social media post in April of last year sparked speculation that she had left her management company and was preparing for marriage. At the time, her management clarified that she was focusing on her studies at Hanoi Law University.

The couple is reported to have known each other for a long time.
