As reported by JTBC, according to a representative from Park’s management company, she fell into a coma after being rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Park died in the early hours of Monday, and her funeral is scheduled for Wednesday in Seoul.
She made her last public appearance at the premiere of the movie "Wonderland" in May.
The news of Park’s death has left many fans in shock. She had garnered a large fanbase from her compelling performances over the years, especially in "The Glory," a 2023 hit. Park was acclaimed for her authentic depiction of an alcoholic woman filled with deep-seated resentment and hatred.
In an interview with Fn News, the actress shared her joy in immersing herself completely in her roles. She aspired to craft more unique and varied characters.
Park began her film career in 1998 and collaborated on numerous projects with South Korean director Kim Ki Duk, including "The Coast Guard," "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring," "Breath," and "3-Iron."
Her significant television roles included "Bloody Heart," "The Guest," and "The Doctors."
