She emphasized that the decision to have children is deeply personal and should be respected. Joe Chen questioned why society puts so much importance on women having children, stating: "Is it really that important whether a woman has kids or not? If you want kids, then go ahead. If you don’t like them, then don’t! Is it really that difficult?" she remarked.
