South Korean actor Song Joong Ki’s wife gives birth to their second daughter in Italy

Song temporarily paused his work commitments to travel to Rome and support his wife after the delivery.

Sharing his excitement, Song said, "In this city over a year ago, I welcomed my first child, and now I am blessed to meet another beautiful baby. A healthy princess was born, and both my wife and our baby are in good condition," according to News1 on Wednesday.

Rome, where Saunders grew up, holds special significance for her. Since their marriage, she has frequently traveled between Italy and South Korea. The couple was occasionally seen taking walks or traveling with their first child in a pram. When approached by fans for photos, Song allowed them to take pictures with him but requested that his wife and children not be included, prioritizing their privacy.

The couple announced their marriage in early 2023. In an interview with GQ, Song expressed that building a happy family and raising children are his greatest aspirations. He shared his joy in finding Saunders as a life partner who aligns with his values and emotional connection.

Song also spoke about his admiration for his father, Song Yong Gak, and how he hopes to emulate his parenting style. He credited his father’s influence for shaping his own character and principles.

Before his marriage to Saunders, Song was previously married to actress Song Hye Kyo, but they divorced in 2019.

With a 15-year career in the entertainment industry, Song has gained acclaim for his performances in "The Innocent Man," "A Werewolf Boy," "Descendants of the Sun," "Vincenzo," and "Reborn Rich."

His most recent film, "My Name is Loh Kiwan", premiered earlier this year, and he is currently filming the drama My Youth alongside actress Chun Woo Hee.
