According to Dimsum Daily, insiders close to the couple report that Shek views Choi as his ideal partner, citing her unmatched personality, fame, and charisma.
The Straits Times noted that Shek and Choi initially began dating in 2017. However, Sing Tao Daily reported that they separated in 2023 due to disagreements over marriage. Before their split, Choi was frequently seen at gatherings hosted by Shek’s family, who operate a mahjong school business, and appeared to share a warm relationship with Shek’s mother and younger sister.
Following his breakup with Choi, Shek dated Joey Leung, the second runner-up of the 2022 Miss Hong Kong pageant. It was speculated that Leung played a role in his breakup, a claim which Choi has denied, as per The Star. Nevertheless, Shek’s relationship with Leung lasted only six months.
Reports indicate that starting in March 2024, Shek took advantage of breaks in Choi’s concert tour schedule to win her back. His persistent efforts over several months ultimately led to their reconciliation. Since then, the couple has chosen to keep a low profile, attending only private events together, and Choi has refrained from having Shek join her on work-related trips.
While promoting her latest Lunar New Year comedy, "My Best Bet," Choi has been reticent about her personal life, describing it as "a bit complicated."
Choi, 45, entered the entertainment industry as a model in Hong Kong before being scouted by the Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG), which paired her with Gillian Chung to form the Cantopop group Twins.
She was previously married to Hong Kong artist Ronald Cheng, 53, from 2006 to 2011.
