"I’m still not ready yet," the singer confessed in an interview with mStar, The Star’s Malay-language news portal. "I keep in touch with my dad, who always contacts me. We’ll be breaking fast together at the end of the week."

She added that though she has come to terms with her parents’ divorce, she was surprised by her father’s choice of new partner.

"Love can’t be forced. If my parents aren’t happy, why should they keep forcing it? Let them find their own happiness. I’m only surprised by who he chose," Amzah explained.

The singer also revealed that she still has old photos with her stepmother on her phone, saying: "While searching for photos from my time in China, I came across one with her."

Amzah’s father Amir Amzah Salleh, also a singer known by his stage name ND Lala, made his remarriage public in Sep. 2023, a month after divorcing his wife Fauziah Sarman. The ex-spouses shares four children.

At 35, Amzah recorded her first pop album at the age of nine. In 2005, with the help of renowned Malaysian record producer David Teo, she released her second pop album, "Sha-Hila." Her 2011 single "Patah Seribu" won Pop Song of the Year and Song of the Year at the 19th Malaysian Music Awards.
