According to Dimsum Daily, Li then took to his Weibo account to share the update with his fans.
"My daughter accompanied me on a subway ride, a stroll in Central Park, and we grabbed a hot dog when hunger struck," he stated. Taking a leisurely break, I felt truly relaxed in these ordinary moments."
In recent years, rumors of his passing have circulated, with Li himself admitting that he struggled with health issues, including being diagnosed with hyperthyroidism.
Li, 62, was born in Beijing, China. His father passed away when Li was just two years old, leaving his family struggling financially.
At eight, Li’s talent for Wushu was recognized while he was attending a summer course. He later became the national all-around champion from 1975 to 1979 but retired from competitive wushu at 18 due to a knee injury, eventually becoming an assistant coach of the Beijing Wushu team, according to the South China Morning Post.
Li’s success in sports paved the way for his career as a martial arts film star. He made his film debut in the 1982 hit "Shaolin Temple," which shattered box office records in China, earning 161,578,014 yuan (US$22.7 million) from approximately 500 million tickets. The sequel "Kids From Shaolin" sold an estimated 490 million tickets, making it the highest-grossing film in China in 1984.
In 1998, Li made his international film debut in "Lethal Weapon 4." His film credits include Hollywood blockbusters "The Expendables" and "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor."
He confirmed in 2011 that he had obtained Singaporean citizenship, as reported by AFP.
