According to Dimsum Daily, a video showing Ng walking in a shopping mall while using her phone, with Sze trailing behind her carrying five large bags, was uploaded to Xiaohongshu. The scene, captured by onlookers, quickly led to widespread ridicule, with some social media users compared Sze to a servant, while others poked fun at Ng’s seemingly nonchalant treatment of her husband.
"Is this how she treats him? It’s all about the headlines," one user commented.
"Poor guy, he’s just her little follower," another quipped.
Others defended Sze, praising his role as a supportive husband. One user noted, "A man who loves his wife will thrive."
"He seems like dream husband material," another added.
In response to the backlash, Sze left a comment under the video, featuring emojis of him looking confused. He also took to social media, sharing photos of their shopping haul and responding with humor. He joked about knee pain affecting his skiing plans and casually asked for recommendations on where to find the best beef brisket and Hong Kong-style milk tea in Shanghai.
Ng, 31, began her career in the entertainment industry in 2010 and made her screen debut in 2011. She is currently active both as an actress and model.
Sze, 35, is the vice president of a digital payment platform and graduated from George Washington University in the U.S. His grandfather and father are prominent businessmen, and his family has an estimated net worth of HKD10 billion (US$1.28 billion), as reported by Chinese media.
The couple announced their relationship in 2022 and is believed to have started dating in 2019. Sze proposed to Ng last year with a large bouquet of roses, a luxury car, and a diamond ring.
They exchanged vows in an ancient castle in Italy in August.
