A Taiwanese woman shared a personal encounter, recalling how she was crying on the back of her boyfriend’s motorbike at a traffic light when Hsu, in a nearby car, rolled down her window and handed the boyfriend a pack of tissues, urging him to comfort her, as reported by the South China Morning Post.
Another fan remembered working at a restaurant where Hsu invited a person who secretly took her photo to take a picture together and even bought them a drink. A Malaysian fan shared a group photo with Hsu, taken in 2019 when she and her sister, Dee Hsu, visited Malaysia. Noticing the fan’s mother standing aside, Hsu pulled her into the frame, saying: "She is an angel."
Following Hsu’s passing, an old interview resurfaced in which Dee Hsu revealed that her sister once confronted a man outside their home after hearing a child crying inside. Despite the man’s intimidating presence, Hsu told him: "If you do not stop beating your child, I will call the police."
When Dee Hsu was warned during a prenatal check-up that her baby might have health issues, Barbie reportedly prayed, saying: "If our family must have an unhealthy child. I want it to be my child."

In a past interview, Hsu said the worst thing that could happen to her was death but viewed the world beyond it as "very beautiful." She also remarked: "I want to live my life eight times richer than other people, and I do not need a next life."
Many fans reflected on these words, with some seeing them as eerie predictions and others finding comfort in her belief that she had lived without regrets.
"I hope you have found the freedom you were searching for all your life," one fan wrote.
"I have always loved her and will keep loving her," another said.
Hsu, renowned for her roles in popular series such as "Meteor Garden," "Mars," and "Summer’s Desire," died at the age of 49. Her death was confirmed by her family in a statement released by her sister, Taiwanese host Dee Hsu, on Feb. 3.
Subsequent leaks of medical reports revealed that Hsu had missed two crucial medical treatments while in Japan. Her family has since returned her ashes to Taiwan and chosen a natural burial.
