Donald Trump attends son Barron’s high school graduation amid ongoing trial

According to The Telegraph, the graduation took place on Friday, and Donald Trump was allowed by the judge to be excused from his ongoing hush money trial to attend the ceremony.

Barron Trump’s mother Melania Trump also attended the graduation, making a rare public appearance in a hat and sunglasses alongside her husband. Her father Viktor Knavs was also present.

The family was accompanied by two Secret Service agents, who were easily identifiable in dark suits and sunglasses.

Earlier in the day, Donald Trump expressed his enthusiasm for his son’s milestone on the Truth Social platform, stating: "Going to Barron’s High School Graduation. Great student, wonderful boy! Very exciting!!!"

Following the graduation, Donald Trump traveled to Minnesota to attend the Minnesota Republican Party’s annual Lincoln-Reagan Dinner on Friday evening.

As reported by The Independent, the former president’s legal team requested the judge to grant him a day off to attend his son’s graduation at the start of the trial in April.

ABC News noted that Donald Trump has been required to attend his trial most days over the past five weeks, with the exception of Wednesdays when the court is not in session.

Barron Trump, the youngest child of Donald Trump and the only child from his marriage to Melania Trump, remained an apolitical figure during his father’s presidency.

Although invited to become an at-large delegate for Florida at the 2024 Republican National Convention, he declined the offer, as reported by Reuters.
