Czech singer shot dead at 40 by oil tycoon husband over quarrel

Czech singer and TV star Victoria Vera Blyth, 40, was murdered by her British businessman husband, David Thomas Blyth, 53, before he took his own life at their home during a quarrel over her text messages.

The incident occurred at their residence in Ankara, Turkey on June 11. The couple's three children, aged 14, 10, and 4, were reportedly in the house at the time of the tragedy, according to The Sun.

Hurriyet reported that the couple had been arguing over her text messages, which remained undisclosed.

A friend of Victoria told the Daily Mail that she had recently complained about her husband's infidelity and controlling behavior over texts. She had allegedly planned to leave him and return to the Czech to reside and resume her singing career.

Victoria married oil businessman David Thomas Blyth in the Czech in 2014. Initially, they lived in Prague but relocated to Turkey in 2019 when David started his business ventures in the Middle East region.

Victoria Vera Blyth also known as Victoria Velvet, was a well-known artist in the Czech. She studied music and released her first album in 2004. She was famous for her cover of the Eagles' song "Hotel California" and her role as a co-host of the "Morning Show" on Europe 2 radio station. Known for her active participation in charity activities, she was beloved by friends and colleagues.

Her family has expressed deep sorrow and confusion over the tragedy. Her body will be brought to her homeland in Scotland, while her children are currently in the care of their maternal relatives.
