A video capturing Huang's proposal to Xu aired on Monday’s episode of his variety show "Dare or Not" on Youku.

In the video, Huang expressed, "Ever since you entered my life and chose to stay, I knew you were the one. I hope you'll be the person who walks with me through life."

He continued, "Every moment of this lifetime, the one I want is you. I dare to marry you; do you dare to accept?"

Overwhelmed with emotion, Xu tearfully responded, "I dare!" and accepted his proposal.

According to Ifeng, Huang selected light pink roses, Xu's favorite, to construct a fairytale-like castle, symbolizing a major milestone in their relationship.

Huang and Xu had been the subject of dating rumors for years before officially confirming their relationship in July.

The two, with Huang now 31 and Xu 28, are said to have first met at SM Entertainment in South Korea, where Xu was a trainee and Huang was a member of EXO.

Huang left EXO in 2015 due to health concerns and returned to China, where he established his own agency, L.TAO Entertainment, in 2018.

According to the South China Morning Post, Huang inherited a $3 billion fortune from his father, Huang Zhongdong, one of China’s wealthiest men who passed away in 2020.

Xu, on the other hand, left SM Entertainment in 2018 and returned to China to further her career, eventually signing with L.TAO Entertainment as a singer.
