By Monday, Huang’s post had attracted 5.2 million likes, while Xu’s post had received 1.3 million likes. The keyword related to their relationship also topped the list of the most-read topics on Weibo.

Huang and Xu have been seen together frequently, prompting speculation about their relationship. In May, photos allegedly showing Huang proposing to Xu appeared on social media, fueling the allegation. However, they had previously denied romantic links between them.

Huang, 31, and Xu, 28, reportedly met at the South Korea-based SM Entertainment, where Xu was a trainee and Huang was a member of EXO.

Huang left EXO and returned to China in 2015, citing health issues. He later founded his own agency L.TAO Entertainment in 2018.

The South China Morning Post reported that Huang inherited a fortune of US$3 billion from his father, businessman Huang Zhongdong, who was one of China’s wealthiest men and passed away in 2020.

Xu left SM Entertainment in 2018 and returned to China to advance her career, subsequently joining L.TAO Entertainment as a singer.
