Asia’s wealthiest billionaire Ambani’s heir completes pre-wedding Mameru ceremony

Business Insider India reported that the ceremony took place at Antilia, the Ambani family’s private mansion in Mumbai. During the ceremony, the groom’s relatives gifted the bride and groom a traditional set of presents known as "Mameru" to honor them.

According to Telegraph India, Radhika wore a 35-meter rani pink bandhani lehenga by designer Manish Malhotra for the ceremony. It featured gold zari borders and was embroidered with Navratri shlokas, accompanied by a koti blouse adorned with detailed metallic threadwork and Swarovski tassels.

The bride-to-be completed her outfit using the same jewelry her mother wore during her pre-wedding rituals and decorated her braid with her mother’s hair accessory.

The day before the Mameru ceremony, the Ambanis organized a communal wedding for underprivileged couples in Mumbai.

Anant and Radhika are set to marry on July 12 in Mumbai, in a ceremony that will extend over three days. The couple held two extravagant pre-wedding parties: one in India in March and another on a yacht traveling from Palermo, Italy to the South of France at the end of May.

Anant, 28, is the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani, who heads the Reliance Industries conglomerate with annual revenues of US$110 billion.

As of July 5, Forbes valued Mukesh Ambani’s net worth at US$123.6 billion, making him the richest person in Asia and the 11th wealthiest worldwide.

Radhika, 29, is the daughter of Shri Viren Merchant, the CEO of the prominent Indian healthcare company Encore Healthcare.

Both Anant and Radhika are graduates of American universities.
