According to Yahoo! Life Singapore, a statement released on social media by Yang’s legal representative on Wednesday noted that the allegations involve a Weibo user who was previously found guilty of defamation against Yang and ordered to compensate him and apologize. Despite this, the user continued to post defamatory comments.

"After the first-instance judgment was made, we noticed that the infringer has once again released false information suspected of insult and defamation today," the lawyer’s statement read. "We have completed evidence collection and will take legal action for the new infringement."

A report from Znews, citing China Press, indicated that this person had accused Yang of "exchanging romance" for career advancements.

"She [Yang] covered up her affair with my ex-boyfriend Feng Chuxuan," the accuser claimed. "Thanks to this, she became more well-known and gained more opportunities for magazine covers, interviews, movie projects, and television shows."

They also mentioned that Yang and Feng met at a party and were subsequently left alone by their managers to ensure privacy.

Yang, 32, who began acting at the age of seven, is recognized as one of China’s leading actresses. Her notable works include "Ode to Joy," "Ashes of Love," and "Go Go Squid!" She was ranked eighth on the Forbes "China Celebrity 100" list in 2021.
