Yasmine Ross, the eldest daughter of Canadian actress Christy Chung, has drawn online criticism after sharing a bikini photo from her vacation in Mexico.

The 27-year-old, known for her confidence and outgoing personality, posted several holiday snapshots recently, including a close-up selfie of her midsection.

While many praised her beauty, some social media users focused on what they described as "visible fat" around her waistline, offering unsolicited fitness advice and urging her to "tone up," according to Dimsum Daily.

Despite facing frequent criticism over her appearance, Yasmine remains unfazed and continues to share updates about her life. She is actively pursuing a career in acting and music, working on personal music projects and filming ventures.

She is Chung’s daughter from her first marriage to Belgian national Glen Ross. After the couple divorced in 2002, Yasmine lived with her mother. She attended an international school in Beijing before moving to Canada in 2016 to pursue higher education.

In 2012, she was named first runner-up at the Miss Chinese Vancouver pageant, as reported by On.

Reflecting on past struggles with body image, she previously shared on social media that she once disliked her appearance and lacked confidence in her skin. However, she has since embraced self-acceptance, describing her body as "the home for the soul and the vessel that carries us through life." She prioritizes her well-being by maintaining a healthy diet, staying active, and listening to her body’s needs.

Chung, 54, born in Canada to a Chinese-Vietnamese father and a Vietnamese mother, moved to Hong Kong to compete in the Miss Chinese International Pageant 1993, where she triumphed despite not knowing any Chinese. This victory kick-started her acting career.

Her performance in the 1993 film "The Bride with White Hair 2" quickly made her a celebrated figure in Chinese-language popular culture, and she starred in numerous films alongside icons like Hong Kong actor-filmmaker Stephen Chow and Chinese-born Singaporean actor Jet Li.
