Two Vietnamese movies will compete in the 2021 Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland in August 4-14.

Duong Dieu Linh's ‘Don’t Cry Butterflies’ and Le Binh Giang's 'Who Created Human Beings’ are two of the eight feature films entered in the Open Doors Hub for the "Co-production platform."

Both are Vietnamese-Singaporean co-productions and will go up against entries from Asia.

Nguyen Thi Xuan Trang will compete in the Open Doors Lab for the "Producing talent incubator" award against Cambodia's Ines Sothea, Indonesia's Gugi Gumilang, Malaysia's Benji Lim and others.

Last year, at Locarno, Vietnamese short film ‘Thien Duong Goi Ten’ (A Trip to Heaven) by Duong Dieu Linh was honored in the Pardi di domani competition. In 2019, she had won the Le Moulin d’Andé-CECI Award.

Founded in 1946, Locarno Film Festival is one of the most renowned and longest-running independent film festivals in the world.
