Minh has led the overall ranking throughout the tournament, finishing the first round on -4, increasing to -10 in the second, with no bogey after 66 strokes, an 18-hole event record.
In the last round Sunday, Minh continued his impressive form with seven birdies and two bogeys on the 67-stroke scorecard. This helped Minh finish first overall in VJO, with four strokes less than runner-up Le Chuc An. Following them were Doan Xuan Khue Minh, Nguyen Nhat Long and Nguyen Quang Tri.
Anh Minh, Khue Minh, Quang Tri and Chuc An had competed in SEA Games 31 for the Vietnam national golf team back in May.
The 2022 VJO featured 123 young talents from across the country, divided into eight groups from U9 to U21. The U15 group had the most players (29) and the U21s had the least (only four).
Anh Minh, 15, is the top amateur player in Vietnam, having jumped 465 places to peak at 463rd on World Amateur Golf Ranking last week.
