The Women's World Cup trophy will stop in Vietnam next month on its world tour.

The journey organized by FIFA to promote the tournament is taking the trophy to the 29 countries participating in the 2023 Women's World Cup. The world's most prominent women's football tournament is still awaiting three more teams that will be decided after play-off games on Wednesday.

The trophy's first destination is Japan on Feb. 25 and 26, then South Korea and the Philippines. Vietnam is the fourth destination in the journey. After that, the trophy will go to 25 other participating countries.

After the journey across the world, the trophy will arrive in Oceania on June 2, then continue to visit nine host cities in New Zealand and Australia.

The 2023 Women's World Cup will begin on July 20 with a match between host Australia and the Republic of Ireland at Stadium Australia in Sydney. The stadium has a capacity of 83,000, which is the largest venue in the tournament. FIFA aims to welcome around 100,000 people to the opening ceremony to set an attendance record for the tournament.

This year's Women's World Cup will conclude on August 20. Vietnam and Philippines are Southeast Asia's two teams in the tournament. Vietnam are in group E with the defending champion U.S., as well as defending runner-up Netherlands, and the winner of the play-off between Portugal and Cameroon. The Philippines are in the same group as New Zealand, Norway and Switzerland.
