Hosts Vietnam pushed up their offense right from the start and Ngoc Minh Chuyen opened the score in the second minute, before Ta Thi Thuy scored a double in the 11th and 15th minutes. Chuyen scored her second later to secure a 4-0 lead for Vietnam in the first half.
Vietnam, led by coach Akira Ijiri, continued to dominate the game on Viet Tri Stadium in the second half, scoring eight more goals including three more by Chuyen, who was selected the best player in the game.
With the 11-0 win, Vietnam have a better goal difference (+14) than India (+13) to top Group F. They beat Indonesia 3-0 on March 7.
Vietnam and India will play on Saturday and Vietnam only need a draw to advance to the second round of the qualifiers, which will be played between eight teams from June 3-11. The top four teams will win slots to the final.
