Fourteen players have recovered from Covid-19 and will fly to India one day before Vietnam's first Women's Asian Cup 2022 game.

PCR test results of the players returned negative Tuesday after treatment in Spain. The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) will organize a flight for them to Pune, India, on Jan. 20, one day before Vietnam play the first match with South Korea.

There are still three players in treatment who will remain in Spain. If they can recover in time for the next games, another flight will be organized to take them to India.

During the training period in Spain, the national team have played many exhibition games to prepare. After a Spanish club that played Vietnam announced a Covid-19 case, the team were tested and many cases were detected on Jan. 10. On Sunday, the team only had six players for the tournament. Fortunately, more players have recovered in time so Vietnam could have a full squad.

Women's Asian Cup 2022 will take place from Jan. 20 to Feb. 6 in India with 12 participating teams. It serves as the final stage of qualification for Women's World Cup 2023, with the top five teams of the tournament qualifying directly.
