The Hong Kong tourism authorities will distribute one million dinning vouchers to tourists next month, with each ticket worth HK$100 (US$12) in food and drink at designated bars and restaurants.

The vouchers can be used as a discount on their food and beverages at any participating bar or restaurant after 6 p.m. as part of Hong Kong’s efforts to boost its night-time economy, said tourism board chairman Pang Yiu-kai, as cited by South China Morning Post.

From November 2023 to January 2024, visitors can also enjoy a special offer for an open-top bus night tours.

Hong Kong is racing to attract international visitors.

Hong Kong's flagship carrier Cathay Pacific earlier this year gave away 80,000 round-trip air tickets to residents in Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam.

In February, Hong Kong allowed Vietnamese tourists to apply for e-visas.

Hong Kong welcomed 600,000 visitors in 2022, only 1% of its 2019 figure.
