The plains and coasts of northern Vietnam will be damp this week, with its western part recording temperatures between 29-33 degrees Celsius.

Weather patterns in the north have been changing erratically over the past week, switching from sunny days to fog and drizzle. The cause is determined to be interactions between humid winds from the southeast and low-pressure areas from the west.

This week, northern Vietnam will see similar weather patterns, with western areas enjoying sunny days and daytime temperatures going up to 33 degrees, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Center.

The eastern areas will record temperatures between 26-31 degrees, and dampness will be felt in the plains and the coast, resulting in condensation in homes.

U.S. weather forecast service AccuWeather anticipates Hanoi's temperatures to be at 23-31 degrees until the middle of the week.

Starting Thursday, the highest daytime temperatures will be reduced to 28 degrees. High-altitude locations like Lao Cai's Sa Pa will record temperatures at 14-25 degrees.

Central Vietnam regions will see sunny days for this week, with the highest daytime temperatures in areas from Thanh Hoa to Binh Thuan at 30-33 degrees. The western mountains from Nghe An to Quang Ngai will record temperatures between 35-37 degrees.

Southern Vietnam will stay hot and sunny, with the highest daytime temperatures at 35-37 degrees. The Central Highlands will record temperatures between 31-34 degrees.

Meteorologists said there might be cold air active in the next month, though it would be weak.

As the low-pressure area in the west develops, sunny days will be seen throughout the country. Average temperatures in northern and central Vietnam will be 1-2 degrees higher than in previous years, while the rest of the localities will record average temperatures 0.5-1.5 degrees higher.
