Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index dropped 0.67% to 1,166.54 points Tuesday in its third losing session in a row.

The index closed 7.8 points lower after plunging 28.9 points on Monday.

Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) fell by 39.5% to VND10.62 trillion ($447.44 million).

The VN-30 basket, comprising the 30 largest capped stocks, saw 15 tickers dropped.

VHM of property giant Vinhomes dropped 3.2%.

It was followed by VNM of dairy giant Vinamilk, down 2.2%, and PLX of fuel distributor Petrolimex, down 1.9%.

Other falling tickers included GAS of state-owned Petrovietnam Gas, VIC of biggest private conglomerate Vingroup, and MWG of electronics retail chain Mobile World.

Nine blue chips gained, with VIB of Vietnam International Commercial Bank rising 3.1%.

HDB of HDBank went up 2.9%, and POW of electricity producer Petrovietnam Power Corporation rose 1.2%.

Foreign investors were net sellers for the fifth straight session to the tune of VND388.59 billion, mostly selling VNM and NLG of real estate developer Nam Long Investment Corp.

The HNX-Index at the Hanoi Stock Exchange, where mid and small caps list, was down 0.06% while the UPCoM-Index at the Unlisted Public Companies Market was up by 0.03%.
