Thailand’s Central Retail Corporation wants to open a shopping mall in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap.

At a recent meeting between provincial authorities and Olivier Langlet, CEO of Central Retail Vietnam, the former recommended six locations for the mall, according to the province’s electronic information portal.

In July, Central Retail unveiled plans to invest VND20 trillion (US$851 million) in the Vietnamese market in the next five years with the goal of becoming the top omni-channel platform in the food and shopping center businesses.

In Vietnam, it has interests in general retail, electronics, sporting goods, fashion, hospitality, and e-commerce.
