FPT, Vietnam’s leading IT services provider, has become a strategic shareholder of LTS Inc, a Japanese business consultancy.

But they did not disclose how much stake FPT acquired or the price.

The investment is expected to help the Vietnamese giant strengthen its consulting capabilities in Japan industry and target more large business deals in other countries.

LTS is expected to help FPT bolster its digital transformation consultancy capabilities in the Japanese and Asia-Pacific markets, and in turn FPT will help enhance its digital transformation technology capacity in manufacturing and retail.

The two sides will focus on ERP-, low-code development- and business management-related services.

LTS Inc. can also leverage FPT's presence in 27 countries to compete worldwide.

Speaking at the signing ceremony on October 13, FPT Corporation Chairman Truong Gia Binh said the cooperation will help FPT and LTS Inc., to compete with global consulting giants.

The investment is part of FPT's strategy to expand its consulting and digital transformation services in key markets such as Japan and the U.S.

In 2021, it bought stakes in Intertec International, a technology company with more than 20 years of experience and a service center each in Costa Rica and Colombia.

It acquired 90% of Intellinet Consulting in the US for US$50 million in 2018, and bought RWE IT Slovakia, a subsidiary of the RWE Group, in 2014.

Established in 2005, FPT Japan has 2,000 employees and it expects to double the headcount by 2025.

It also targets becoming one of Japan’s top 20 IT services companies by 2025 and revenues of $1 billion by 2027.
