Defender Doan Van Hau and his wife Doan Hai My, a top 10 finalist in Miss Vietnam 2020, are focusing on understanding each other’s habits during their initial months of matrimony.
My has shared snapshots from her marriage to Hau on social media platforms on March 11, marking the celebration of four months since the ceremony. A multitude of fans have praised the duo for their collective beauty and happiness, observed both during their big day and in their daily lives.
Currently, My and Hau have made their home in a Hanoi apartment, where they frequently host friends for meals and gatherings.
My has disclosed that life as newlyweds is brimming with unpredictability and new interests.
"Since we started living together, we’ve both been observing each other’s habits more closely and have taken up the routine of doing household tasks together every morning," she said. "It was a challenge for me at first as I had never lived apart from my family, but I have adjusted well and am now comfortable, all thanks to my supportive husband."
She added that she and Hau are learning to live in harmony during their initial months of matrimony.
The pair acknowledges that they have assisted each other in overcoming prior bad habits, such as foregoing skipping meals, to enjoy family dinners instead. My mentions that she and Hau frequently share domestic responsibilities, including vacuuming and laundry.
Over the Tet Lunar New Year last month, the beauty queen had her first experience celebrating New Year’s Eve and preparing banh chung, a traditional square-shaped sticky rice cake with pork and bean fillings wrapped in green leaves for Tet, with her in-laws in Hau’s hometown in the northern province of Thai Binh.
Hau remarked that My was well-received by his family for her eagerness to help with cooking and cleaning. Photos of My celebrating the new year in Thai Binh also demonstrate her strong bond with her mother-in-law.
The couple took a spring journey during the festive period, wishing for good fortune.
My claimed she believes that disputes are a natural part of life, but she and Hau make it a point to address them calmly. They engage in open conversations, and the one who acknowledges their mistake attempts to amend it. In moments of anger, they resort to texting to better manage their words and emotions.
Hau maintains the romantic spark by gifting flowers and declaring his love for My on special occasions like her birthday and March 8, celebrated as International Women’s Day.
The duo celebrated Valentine’s Day with an outing on Feb. 14.
My joined her husband on a trip to Singapore in Dec. 2023 for his medical consultation concerning an injury. This journey also doubled as their honeymoon, during which they explored numerous attractions and savored the local gastronomy.
The beauty queen has adopted a more conservative fashion sense after marriage, moving away from her previously favored form-fitting attire.
There are whispers of My being pregnant with their first child, although she has not confirmed these speculations. The couple has openly shared that their foremost aspiration for this Year of the Dragon is to welcome a new family member.
