They remembered Rinky as a legacy of purpose and beauty, acknowledging the deep sense of loss felt by those who knew her.

Chakma's battle began with a breast cancer diagnosis, leading to surgical intervention. However, the cancer metastasized to her lungs and later to her brain, developing into a tumor, as detailed by Femina magazine.

Her condition worsened over time, rendering her unable to continue chemotherapy. She was admitted to the hospital in a critical state on Feb. 22, relying on ventilator support in the ICU due to significant lung impairment.

Her participation in the 2017 Femina Miss India pageant, representing Tripura, earned her the Miss Beauty with a Purpose title, highlighting her commitment to making a significant impact and her altruistic nature, according to India Today.
