Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, Miss Grand International 2021, has said that seeing her close friends embark on happy marriages has sparked her desire to do the same.

At the age of 25, Tien expressed that life has brought her new experiences, particularly in the realm of love. Previously, due to her parents’ unhappy marriage, she harbored reservations about the institution of matrimony.

"I still love, but I don’t have the same belief in marriage as others," she admitted. The beauty queen confessed that while she has loved wholeheartedly in the past, marriage was not a consideration for her. Instead, she contemplated the idea of adopting a child.

"I used to think that I would live alone, adopt children, and had no intention of getting married," Thuy Tien recalled.

However, a change of heart has taken place, and she is now open to the prospect of marriage, provided she finds the right person who is prepared for a responsible and emotionally fulfilling union.

Tien noted that witnessing the joyous milestones of her close friends, such as marriages and childbirths, has contributed to her newfound desire to follow suit and get married in the near future.

"I’ve seen many people getting married at a younger age than me, and they have changed a lot -- changing their goals, changing their ideals in life. And they are much more interesting," she observed.

Balancing her attention between personal and professional life, Tien emphasized her commitment to hard work and participation in various activities, aiming to showcase that she is more than just a beauty queen.

Hailing from Ho Chi Minh City, Tien, after gaining fame she actively engaged in social initiatives associated with the lives of workers and farmers.

In 2023 she launched the "Vui len nha" (Cheer up) project, which aims to establish children’s play areas in hospitals nationwide.

Her commendable efforts earned her several certificates of merit, and she was invited by the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs to speak at an international conference.
