According to Francois Fevrier, CEO of Water and R&R of Suez Asia, Suez brings expertise and technical know-how to industrial parks across Asia, delivering state-of-the-art environmental services to 22 parks in the region. With Vietnam's continuing industrial growth, Suez is committed to supporting the country's sustainable future through innovative water and waste solutions.

Since Vietnam established its first industrial park in 1963, the country has developed more than 400 such parks. To address the challenges associated with industrial water and wastewater—such as improving wastewater quality, stabilizing effluents, and enhancing pipe networks—the government has introduced stringent environmental and discharge policies to ensure higher-quality development.

As part of its environmental transition, 40-50% of localities in Vietnam aim to transform existing industrial parks into eco-industrial parks by 2030. Suez, leveraging its extensive experience, is well-positioned to contribute to this ongoing transformation.

Strategically located just over an hour's drive from Ho Chi Minh City, Chau Duc Industrial Park is the largest of its kind in southern Vietnam and a key hub for industries such as semiconductors, mechanics, and automotive accessories. It serves as a gateway for international businesses investing in Vietnam's industrial sectors and contributes significantly to the country's economic development.

The first phase of the collaboration between Suez and Sonadezi involves the upgrade, operations, and maintenance (O&M) of existing wastewater treatment facilities. The initiative will offer comprehensive wastewater solutions to over 100 industrial clients within the Chau Duc Industrial Park. As the park continues to develop and environmental standards rise, the joint venture will also explore opportunities to enhance water and waste services through advanced facilities and technologies.

Suez's presence in Asia began around 70 years ago in Southeast Asia and later expanded to China 50 years ago. With more than 6,500 employees across Asia, the company has built over 600 water and wastewater treatment plants. Suez also offers water and waste recycling and recovery services to over 25 million people and 22 industrial parks across the region.
