I fear of being unemployed despite knowing 3 foreign languages

Despite being fluent in English, French, and possessing some knowledge of Spanish, I am concerned that advancements in AI and automation might one day make my skills redundant and jeopardize my employment prospects.

At 29, I currently work as a bank teller at an international bank, where my duties primarily involve data entry and document preparation for clients opening accounts or managing their savings. Although this job is not particularly challenging and allows me to finish by 5 p.m., my income is modest at approximately VND12 million (US$485) per month, and customer interactions are infrequent.

I have a bachelor’s degree in English, but I lack formal training in other relevant areas such as marketing, IT, accounting, or business management. I fear that without additional skills, I could struggle to secure employment should I lose my current position.

I am considering furthering my education next year by pursuing a master’s degree in either economics or business, with a focus on digital business, fintech, or data analysis. However, I am uncertain if this path will sufficiently enhance my competitiveness in the job market.

What steps should I take to improve my career prospects?
