According to The Star, Cheung posted on his Instagram Story: "I’m in urgent need of a job opportunity, requiring HK$6,800 (US$867) today. Help me."

His wife Au Yin Man also shared a post expressing their challenging circumstances.

"Just a little effort can bring about a change in life. Sometimes, it’s not enough," she wrote on Instagram.

The couple, who has four sons aged between one and five, has been struggling to make ends meet. Earlier this month, Au revealed that their monthly rent amounts to HK$15,000, and they are currently one and a half months behind on payments. She added that the family faces the threat of eviction if the overdue rent is not cleared by the end of the month.

In recent years, Cheung, 40, has taken on various odd jobs to support his family. These jobs have included working in cable wiring, construction, distributing fliers and condoms, and making food deliveries.

The singer first rose to fame in 2003 as a member of the boy band Boy’z, later renamed Sun Boy’z, and gained recognition with multiple music awards in Hong Kong. However, after the group disbanded in 2008, Cheung’s transition into acting was met with limited success and few opportunities.

The singer married Au, 34, in 2019, and their family has been further strained by Cheung’s damaged reputation following a 2019 cheating scandal involving four women, including Hong Kong actress April Leung. Since the scandal, Cheung has struggled to find steady performance opportunities, compounding his financial difficulties.
