Saigon Jewelry Company gold ring price rose 0.19% on Wednesday morning to VND78.65 million (US$3,201.06) per tael, the historic peak it previously hit on Aug. 28.

Gold bar price was stable at VND80.5 million per tael. A tael equals 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.

Globally, gold price trades with a positive bias for the third successive day on Wednesday and is currently placed near the weekly top, around the $2.520 region, FXStreet reported.

The uptick, however, lacks follow-through buying as traders seem reluctant and prefer to wait for the release of the latest U.S. consumer inflation data later during the North American session.

Heading into the key data risk, the prospects for an imminent start of the Fed's policy-easing cycle attract some U.S. dollar sellers in the vicinity of the monthly peak.

This, along with a generally weaker tone around the equity markets, is seen driving some haven flows towards the Gold price.
