BIDV and Agribank are the latest lenders to let gold buyers register online in the morning and complete the purchase in person in the afternoon.

Starting Monday the two lenders began to adopt the same registration mechanism as Vietcombank which launched it last week.

At BIDV customers can register online on the morning of weekdays and receive the gold between 1.30 p.m. and 4 p.m. at one of its branches.

Agribank has also deployed a similar scheme.

Customers who are 30 minutes late to pick up will see their purchase canceled.

VietinBank is the only state-owned lender which has yet to deploy an online registration system.

Last week Vietcombank’s system was overwhelmed by a large number of people signing up to register to buy gold.

Saigon Jewelry Company gold price has remained steady at VND76.98 million ($3,025.71) for over a week.
