A man in the southern province of Tay Ninh has been arrested for tricking two women into being sold to a fraudulent company in Cambodia for $300 per person.

Luu Huynh Kim Long, 32, was arrested by Tay Ninh police on Friday to be investigated for human trafficking.

Previously on June 18, police caught Long and a motorbike taxi driver transporting two women, aged 18 and 28, to Cambodia on lesser-known illicit pathways. Long admitted that he was selling the women to a company in the Kim Sa 3 area of Ba Vet City, Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia. He also admitted to having sold three other women for $300 each.

Long said he is a recruiter who posts job offers online to find Vietnamese people willing to work in Cambodia. Long's group entices people with offers of high income. Once victims agree to be recruited, Long's group sells them to companies that operate scams, swindles and fraud schemes run by Chinese people.
