Duy Tan secures position as one of top trusted packaging companies in Vietnam

The Top 10 Most Reputable Packaging Companies award is based on criteria such as financial performance, media reputation, and stakeholder surveys conducted in September 2024.

Duy Tan was commended for meeting increasing demands for packaging quality and design, prioritizing innovation, digitization, and expanding production and market reach both domestically and internationally.

With state-of-the-art equipment and a highly experienced team, Duy Tan is a leading manufacturer and supplier of plastic packaging in Vietnam.

Company representatives emphasized that packaging is one of Duy Tan's three core sectors, alongside household and industrial plastics. Among these, packaging represents the largest share of the company’s production volume and revenue. Duy Tan specializes in producing various types of rigid packaging with high applicability, and has been a preferred supplier for leading domestic brands and multinational corporations for 37 years.

Duy Tan’s packaging products are now present in 60 countries and territories, including demanding markets such as the U.S., Japan, and Europe. Some of its partners have collaborated with the company for over 10-20 years, reflecting the trust in Duy Tan’s quality and reliability.

The company’s products are manufactured using advanced machinery from Germany, Japan, and other countries, ensuring high quality, durability, and precision.

Duy Tan’s integrated supply chain includes premium plastic resin materials (via MATA Plastics Co., Ltd.), mold technology (via Precision Mold Co., Ltd.), and large-scale production at three factories in Long An, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City. Its products meet international standards such as ISO, ISCC Plus, and BRC Global Packaging—Packaging Materials.

Since joining SCG Packaging (SCGP) in 2021, Duy Tan has focused on becoming the leading plastics manufacturer in ASEAN. The company has invested in new technologies, automation, and specialized production lines to fulfill high-volume and specialized orders.

Duy Tan’s commitment to sustainability is reflected in its strategy, "Green Product Development, Aiming for Sustainability, Promoting a Circular Economy." The company is working with various partners to produce eco-friendly packaging that meets international standards and ensures consumer safety. This includes the successful production of PCR bottles (post-consumer recycled or regenerated plastics), which are made through a strict mechanical recycling process using virgin HDPE.

One of Duy Tan’s notable partnerships is with Vilube, which pioneered the use of 50% recycled plastic in Motul’s oil containers. Additionally, Duy Tan produces various products from recycled plastics like rPET and rPP, including water bottles, cosmetic containers, and dishwashing liquid bottles.

The company also collaborates with Nestlé to create bottles for soy sauce and oyster sauce with caps that eliminate the safety ring, reducing plastic usage and contributing to environmental sustainability. Duy Tan has also developed a lightweight cap design that attaches directly to bottles, enhancing recyclability and aligning with the European Union's new packaging regulations.

In addition to producing tethered caps for drinking water, Duy Tan is expanding into the market for tethered caps for carbonated soft drinks (CSD), reflecting its commitment to innovation and sustainability.

"Successfully implemented projects represent a significant effort by manufacturers and customers to create sustainable packaging that saves resources, reduces production costs, and minimizes plastic waste," said a company representative.

Looking ahead, Duy Tan plans to continue developing sustainable packaging solutions, expanding its market reach, and attracting new customers. The company is also researching the application of recycled and bio-based materials in production, aiming to solidify its position as a leader in rigid and household plastic packaging in ASEAN.
