How much do the richest 10% Americans earn daily?

The richest 10% of Americans earned on average $156 per person each day last year, second highest in the world.

They were ranked behind only those in Luxembourg, who earned $166, according to data compiled by digital media platform Visual Capitalist.

In the third and fourth places were Switzerland ($138) and Germany ($118).

The top 10% in income in the U.S. – around 34 million individuals – earned seven times that of the bottom 10% ($23).

Congo ranked at the lowest in the study, with the richest 10% earning $3.3 daily and the poorest 10% earning $0.5.

In Asia, South Korea was named the country with the highest daily income. The richest in the nation earned $103 and the poorest $23.

The earning gap is between $6 and $28 for China, and $5 and $25 for Vietnam.

All figures are in international dollars at 2017, adjusted for purchasing power parity. A total of 108 countries are included in the study.
