Viettel High Technology Industries Corporation (VHT) has signed a contract worth nearly US$2 million with technology firm ContactPoint Inc. to provide a firearm training simulation system to the Philippine police.

VHT is a subsidiary of military-owned telecommunications giant Viettel Group.

This is Viettel's second contract in half a year in this market. The first contract was inked in March for Viettel to deploy customized shooting simulation systems for the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Viettel's firearm training simulation system has been enhanced with over 90% new features in line with training requirements of the client. Viettel has developed a recoil device in the simulation system, supporting specific guns such as Glock, Taurus and M16 Rifle; and a new shooting training software module, helping improve the quality of training and combat preparation.

Cesar J. Manuel Jr., CEO of ContactPoint, a leading technology company in the Philippines specializing in providing solutions and equipment for government agencies and private clients, stated that the company had searched for supplies, but no other partner in the world can customize products to their exact requirements like Viettel.

The pricing offered by Viettel is competitive compared to other providers, he added.

Nguyen Vu Ha, CEO of VHT, said Viettel is committed to providing the most advanced and highest quality products in the Philippines and the international market in general, contributing to improving training quality and reducing training costs.
