Vietnam Railways Corporation plans to upgrade a cargo station each in the south and north at a price tag of over VND445 billion ($18.48 million).

Song Than Station in the southern industrial hub of Binh Duong needs its storage area expanded and new buildings, it said in a proposal to the Ministry of Transport.

The cost of the upgrade is an estimated VND150 billion.

Song Than is the largest cargo station in the south and one of six international stations used in the transport of goods from and to China.

Cao Xa Station in Hai Duong Province in the north will be upgraded at a cost of VND61 billion in the first phase and VND234 billion in the second.
