Brewery LeVeL33, located 149 meters above ground in Singapore, is set to be awarded the Guinness World Record for highest micro-brewery in a building next month.

The bar-restaurant on the 33rd floor of Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 1, which is celebrating its 15th year of establishment, will have its record authenticated on March 12, according to The Straits Times.

Its founder Martin Bem in 2010 overcame multiple challenges to design a brewery at an unusual height while maintaining its beer quality.

"We had massive challenges, especially with bringing the brewery up to the 33rd floor, which has never been done before worldwide."

The builders had to carry equipment to the floor using a crane. They also had to install a backup 1,000-litre tank to ensure adequate water pressure.

Customers visiting the bar can enjoy beer produced on-site starting from SGD16.90 (US$12.63) per pint.
