Mobile World to tie up with F88 for consumer credit

Electronics retailer Mobile World is set to offer consumer loans of up to VND10 million ($435), and plans to sign a deal with credit provider F88 next week.

The loans will carry interest of 1.1 percent a month. Customers need to repay within 12 months.

They can get a loan within 15 minutes at any Mobile World or Dien May Xanh outlet, the company said.

A spokesperson for F88 told VnExpress that the two companies would try out the new model in HCMC for three months before expanding to other places.

Mobile World’s large network nationwide would help F88 reach areas where it has not been able to so far, he added.

Mobile World has been busy launching new products and services this year.

In May, it began selling bicycles and accessories at its Dien May Xanh outlets and tied up with existing mobile stores.

In Octobe,r it launched TopZone, a chain of authorized Apple stores. Last month, it set up a logistics company to handle delivery.

Mobile World plans to set up a sports gear chain, BlueSport, this month.
