He replaced Vu Dinh Do, who will remain as a member in the board of director, according to a company statement.
Vu, 48, was the deputy chairman of DNP Holding, a producer of construction materials and household items.
Do will remain the chairman of Tasco, which is the parent company of Savico.
The transition was made to ensure Do’s focus on the parent company to develop strategic missions, Savico’s statement said.
Savico is among the biggest auto distributors in Vietnam. It posted VND9.4 trillion (US$371 million) in revenue and VND94 billion in profit in the first six months.
