Chinese-American actress Liu Yifei wore a see-through gown by Vietnamese designer Tra Linh in promotional photos for the Disney film “Wish,” in which Liu voices the main character Asha.

The gown consists of a nude corset made by draping and pleating the fabric, with the highlight being the large, ornate bow around the waist. The entire body of the dress was hand-beaded with Swarovski crystals, an endeavor that took Tra Linh and her team more than 10 days to finish.

Tra Linh said the actress’s team contacted her to commission the dress in October this year.

"As soon as I finished talking with them, my tailors and I immediately went to work making the gown according to Liu Yifei’s measurements. It took us three weeks to finish the entire process," Linh said.

The dress was sent to Liu in November, and Linh was happy that the actress was satisfied with the product.

Liu Yifei has featured in a variety of projects this year, from films to fashion shows. Her most recent project was the TV drama series "The Tale of Rose," which finished filming this month. She is also the ambassador for countless luxury fashion and makeup brands, including Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, and Dior.

It was reported by the Chinese news site Sina that Liu has remained popular 20 years after her debut in the Chinese entertainment industry because of her acting prowess and elegance.

Liu Yifei, 36, was born in the city of Wuhan, China. She became infamous at 16-years-old thanks to her role as Xiaolongnu in "The Tale of the Condor Heroes," which made her a global name. She has also acted in other famous Chinese films, including "The Story of a Noble Family," "Chinese Paladin," and "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils."

Tra Linh, 32, was born in Lam Dong Province and established her high-end bridal gown boutique in 2013. Aside from developing her brand in Vietnam, she has also branched out into the Middle-East, Europe, and American fashion scenes.

In October, she released her "We Are Roses" bridal gown collection at Shanghai Fashion Week 2023. Linh has designed for Chinese actress Fan Bingbing and Yang Zi, as well as Thai actress Mai Davika.
