China Party leader, President Xi Jinping arrives in Hanoi for two-day state visit

China's General Secretary of the Communist Party and President Xi Jinping has come to Vietnam for a two-day state visit from April 14 to 15.

    A stete-level reception ceremony for Xi Jinping is scheduled at 4 p.m. Monday at the Presidential Palace.

    Vietnam's General Secretary of the Communist Party To Lam will then hold a dialogue with his Chinese counterpart at the headquarters of the Central Party Committee. They are expected to sign a number of agreements after the dialogue.

    Xi is also expected to meet with Vietnam's Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and head of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man in the evening. He will then attend a state-level banquet.

    Xi's entourage reaches Vo Chi Cong Street in Hanoi

    Following the reception at Noi Bai Airport, Xi Jinping gets on a car to travel towards downtown Hanoi, to the Mariott Hotel in Nam Tu Liem District.

    The entourage passes through Vo Chi Cong Street at around 12:15 p.m.

    Vietnamese President Luong Cuong to receive Xi at Noi Bai Airport

    Vietnam's President Luong Cuong leads the Vietnamese entourage to receive Xi at Hanoi's Noi Bai Airport. The entourage includes Tran Cam Tu, Permanent Member of the Secretariat; Le Hoai Trung, office head of the Central Party Committee; and Tran Sy Thanh, chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee.

    200 students of the drum art group of the People's Police Academy and 54 women wearing traditional Vietnamese outfits are also present at the reception.

  • China's Xi Jinping to pay two-day state visit to Vietnam today

    China's General Secretary of the Communist Party and President Xi Jinping will arrive in Vietnam today for a two-day state visit from April 14 to 15.

    The top leader of China will be accompanied by Cai Qi, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, member of the committee’s Secretariat and Chief of the committee’s Office; Wang Yi, Politburo member, Director of the Office of the CPC Central Committee’s Commission for Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Wang Xiaohong, Minister of Public Security; Liu Jianchao, head of the CPC Central Committee’s International Liaison Commission; Dong Jun, Minister of National Defense; and other officials.
