Vietnam's President To Lam helmed a reception ceremony to welcome Russian President Vladimir Putin's state visit at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on Thursday.

    Preparations underway

    From the early morning, red carpets have been prepared at the Palace ahead of President Putin's arrival.

    Following the ceremony, Putin is expected to meet and hold dialogues with high-ranking Vietnamese leaders to discuss bilateral relations and witness the signing of agreements.

    The state visit happens as Vietnam and Russia commemorate their 30-year anniversary of signing an agreement on fundamental principles of the Vietnam-Russia friendly relations.
