After the burial ceremony, fresh wreaths were laid on top of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's grave, before all family members and delegates presenting at Mai Dich Cemetery took another minute of silence.

Speaking afterward, Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat Luong Cuong, on behalf of the funeral organizing committee and the General Secretary's family, expressed gratitude to the leaders and former leaders of the Party and State, compatriots nationwide, intellectuals, the diplomatic corps, the armed forces, religious dignitaries, and international organizations who came to pay their respects, sent wreaths and condolence messages, and attended the memorial and burial services for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong
The family members and the leaders of the Party and State walked around the grave to bid a final farewell to the late Party chief.

The family and delegates then spread flowers and soil into the grave. The guards then close down the grave. The family, Party and state leaders spend a minute in silence in memorial of the late Party Secretary.

As planned, the entourage carrying Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong's casket would march through several Hanoi streets, including Tran Thanh Tong, Le Thanh Tong, Trang Tien, Hang Khay, Trang Thi, Dien Bien Phu, Tran Phu, Son Tay, Kim Ma, Dao Tan, Lieu Giai, Nguyen Chi Thanh, Thang Long Avenue, Le Quang Dao, Le Duc Tho, Ho Tung Mau.

The General Secretary's coffin, draped with the national flag by the honor guard, is placed neatly on the hearse. Behind it, thousands of people follow, paying their final respects to the General Secretary.

The hearse moves out of the National Funeral Home courtyard. Following closely behind are his wife, Ngo Thi Man, President To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and Permanent Secretary of the Party Secretariat Luong Cuong. The procession from the funeral home follows the coffin, bidding farewell to the General Secretary.
