Vietnam blocked repeated attacks from Iran but forward Sardar Azmoun still managed to go past the defense twice.

The game will start at 6 p.m. (Hanoi time) at the Al Nahyan Stadium, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Speaking at a press conference one day before the match, Vietnam's coach Park Hang-seo said  Vietnam will try to make the most of their opportunities against the stronger opponent.

On the Iranian side, coach Carlos Queiroz said they were impressed with Vietnam's first match, when they lost 2-3 to Iraq in the last minute, and they will be careful.

Iran enter the match already scoring three points from a 5-0 win over Yemen.
